Cuisinart SS-10 — Single-Serve Coffeemaker for Pods and Ground Coffee

Cuisinart-SS-10

The Cuisinart SS-10 premium single-serve coffeemaker is a fully programmable model to make one cup of coffee at a time. It’s an energy-consuming efficient device with temperature control.

Dimensions

The machine weighs 1 pound, and its dimensions are 11.03 x 9.33 x 12.13 inches that are rather large for a single-serve brewer. The 72-ounce water reservoir is easy to remove, and it holds 9 cups. The maximum allowed mug’s height is 7 inches.

Features

The Cuisinart SS-10 has a branded HomeBarista Reusable Filter Cup to make coffee from coffee grounds, pods, capsules (K-Cups), and even to make loose tea. It’s also possible to use plastic pods, but they require pushing them down as they are stiffer. Note that this coffee-maker lacks the built-in grinder, making it necessary to grind coffee independently before brewing it. Besides, there is no opportunity to use two or more pods at a time.

The unit has 5 brew size options – 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12 oz. One set the favorite cup size to get, for example, a 6-ounce cup of coffee without punching buttons every time.

The machine is fitted with a charcoal reusable water filter to provide a rich taste of the coffee. Note that the brewer requires filtered water since tap water will clog it fast. The device has a removable drip tray plate to provide enough space for travel mugs.

The Cuisinart SS10 coffee maker heats up and brews quickly, however, it is very loud when brewing. The brew cycle temperature is adjustable between hot and extra hot. The hot water cycle is always extra hot. The selected ounce is dispensed in boiled and hot water. If the latter is selected for brew temperature and a user needs extra hot for oatmeal, it’s necessary to use the hot water button.

This model switches on/off automatically after 30 minutes to save energy once the coffee is done brewing. It delivers the first cup of coffee fast and keeps the speed stable for subsequent cups.

Design

In my Cuisinart ss-10 review, I’d like to draw attention to the machine’s LCD display where the user can see different settings. Besides, there is a 24-hour clock on it to set a time of daily automatic brewing.

Mostly the unit is made from plastic but with some metal components (for example, drip tray cover and a push down lever where to insert the k-cups).

It comes with a removable filter and a holder that replaces the K-cup holder in the front. It stores neatly hidden inside the right-hand side of the machine.

Conclusion

The Cuisinart SS-10 is perfect for those who usually have rush morning hours since it allows dispensing with measuring out the exact amount of coffee. The programmable machine is suitable for coffee-lovers that adore experimenting and adding various flavors but, at the same time, prefer to get their cup of coffee instantly.
